What are you doing to prevent a fire in your spa from your laundering of towels, robes, sheets, and other textile products you use every day at your Spa?

We deal with Spa’s all over the country, and even some abroad. Lately we have been receiving reports of fires breaking out in Spa’s from an area, and cause, no one would have thought of before could occur. It boils down to some simple steps to follow that every ‘Spa Proprietor’ should follow, and have their staff enforce it. “ An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure”. Protect your investment and business by following the simple steps outlined below and you won’t have to shut down for six months for renovation, painting and attracting clients who left you in the interim to enjoy your services in another Spa. Some whom may never come back.

• Make sure your Gas or Electric Dryer has as automatic shut off from smoke and fire. Install a few extra smoke detectors with an extra one where your dryer sits.
• Make sure your Gas or Electric Dryer has a fire resistant attachment that if a fire breaks out water will put out the fire immediately
• When washing garments confirm that nothing has been left in the pockets or any metallic materials that could cause a spark while in the dryer
• Clean out lint traps every night before closing, and make sure no paper of debris has fallen in the dryer that could ignite spontaneously.
• Never leave laundry sitting in the dryer when the shut off has occurred. Remove everything as soon as you hear or see that the dryer has stopped operating
• Before folding and stacking your laundry make sure that it has cooled down to the touch
• Remember to use a good degreaser in a special automatic laundering program with your Washer-Extractor that will dissolve oils, grease, mud, and creams that are highly inflammable.As an extra precaution take the oily towels, garments, and sheets and soak them overnight in a special drum dedicated for this process with water and oil Eliminator added. The next day wash with “The Oil Eliminator” in your washing process automatically with a special program.
• Bring your on- premises-house laundry system up to the highest standard by using soft mount programmable washer extractors and dryers with the latest technology utilizing fire resistant systems and automatic safe, and green cleaning products that are automatically measured and dispensed properly which will eliminate employee handling.
